SCG Trust Chairman praises NSW Police

January 5, 2017

SCG Trust Chairman Tony Shepherd has echoed the statements of Cricket Australia Chairman David Peever after more than 100 NSW Police officers donated their wages to the McGrath Foundation today.

"We're indebted to the NSW Police. They work at more than 65 sporting events at the SCG and Allianz Stadium each year," Shepherd said.

"The officers' act of generosity this year is another example of their unwavering support for the community and major events like Jane McGrath Day.

"They are all to be applauded, not just for today's donation, but for their continuing and selfless commitment to serving the people of NSW.

"The SCG Trust is proud of its ongoing support for the McGrath Foundation and the inspiring work they do to fund the placement of breast care nurses across Australia.

"Our relationship with the foundation has spanned almost a decade with day three of the New Year's Test becoming one of the most celebrated traditions on the sporting calendar. We're looking forward to seeing it grow even bigger in years to come."
