The 2018 New Year Sydney Cricket Ground Ashes Test match was one which will be remembered for many years.

Images of Australia's only innings at bat, as they crushed the English bowlers and declared at 7-649 in the last of the five match series, were as memorable and steeped in personal achievement as they were a coming-of-age for Steve Smith's men.

Usman Khawaja revelled on his old home track weathering the initial onslaught to record 171 gritty runs which paved the way for an incredible stanza of batting from West Australian brothers Shaun and Mitch Marsh who combined for 156 and 101 runs respectively, triggering one of the most fervent mid-pitch celebrations in recent memory.

With the clock ticking and England under the hammer, Aussie quick Pat Cummins stepped up to wipe the English batsmen out on the last day, icing the momentous win.

The on-pitch mastery was equalled off the field across all five days with heaving crowds enjoying five star facilities and the historical monuments synonymous with the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The 'Pink Test' was once again celebrated with the McGrath Foundation and Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust combining to deliver a world class spectacle on one of the worlds' favourite sporting arena's.
