SCG Sports Sculptures

The SCG Sports Sculptures, including the Basil Sellers Sports Sculptures Project, are one of the most popular attractions within the local precinct.

Sydney businessman and philanthropist Basil Sellers had a vision to immortalise various sporting icons who have captured our hearts and minds through their endeavours within two of Sydney’s great sporting arenas.

The realisation of Basil Sellers' dream saw 11 life-sized bronze sculptures installed at the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium.

An additional four sculptures were commissioned by the SCG and a small group of Trustees.

These 15 sculptures have been beautifully crafted by renowned NSW artists Cathy Weiszmann and Terrance Plowright and always strike a reaction from their various locations within the precinct.
